"Heavens' Embroidered Cloths"
Chris Hall will talk generally about antique Chinese textiles and will be illustrated with slides of pieces from his own collection.
Chris Hall has lived in Hong Kong for over 40 years. He has assembled one of the world's great collections of antique Chinese textiles dating from 500 B.C. to the present.
Chris Hall organised the first major exhibition of Chinese textiles at the Museum of Art in Hong Kong in 1995.
His collection has also been exhibited in Beijing, New York, Los Angeles, Sydney and Oxford. Part of Chris Hall's collection is currently on exhibition in the National Silk Museum in Hangzhou and the Asian Civilisations Museum in Singapore.
Entrance: RMB 80.00 (RAS members) and RMB 130.00 (non-members) including a drink (tea, coffee, soft drink, glass of wine) Those unable to make the donation but wishing to attend may contact us for exemption, prior to the RAS Lecture Series.
