Last October, Julie Chun (MA, Art History) led the RAS Art Focus through the inaugural exhibition Myth/History Part 1 at the newly established Yuz Museum in Shanghai where we explored major large-scale works by some of the most famous contemporary artists dominating the global art scene.  This month, we will explore Myth/History Part 2, a continued curatorial series by Wu Hung, the professor of Art History at University of Chicago.  Julie Chun will introduce the curatorial scope and the featured artists and artworks in this exhibition that pays special tribute to Shanghai artists who made significant contributions to Chinese contemporary art history, including our guest speaker.  The highly regarded Shanghai-based artist Zhang Jian-jun will deliver a talk exclusively for RAS Art Focus providing insight into his unique artistic practice that range from the early years of his career to current times.
