Stories of Things is pleased to present three exciting presenters and their unique "Things" for Friday the 26th of March from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.:
- Patty Lian's father's old metal lunch box has elicited memories of growing up in the 1980s in the first generation of One Child Policy China. Patty will bring the box and share those reminiscences with us.
- Duke Kunshan University professor and expert on Daoism, Dr. James Miller, will bring a bottle of Kiwi liquor from the Daoist temples of Qingcheng Mountain near Chengdu. He will talk about the complex relationship between Daoism and liquor over the centuries. Yes, there will be a tasting!
- RAS Fellow Betty Barr and husband George Wang will bring their fancy official marriage certificates (they have one each!) and talk about their story which spans most of 20th Century and now 21st Century Shanghai.
